Passports are required for U.S. citizens to leave or enter the U.S. and to enter most foreign countries. On site issuance: See Note below. Passport renewals: Passports may be renewed by mail if certain requirements are met. Renewal applications are available at locations listed below, travel agencies or by mail from passport agencies. Contact offices below for information on specific requirements. Informational brochures may be obtained on written request to the Manhattan office.

Note: On-site passports are issued only at the Manhattan office (376 Hudson St.) to applicants with airline tickets or letters on airline stationery showing travel within 14 days.
