Recreational Use of Water Supply Lands (Watershed Access Permits)
Description
Many City-owned lands west of Hudson are open to the public without a DEP Access Permit for fishing, hiking, hunting and trapping. These lands will be designated by "Public Access Area" signs. Lands east of Hudson and around reservoirs designated "entry by permit" signs require a free DEP Access Permit. An additional Boat Tag is required for fishing by boat on the reservoirs. All boats placed on City reservoirs must be steam cleaned by DEP or DEP-approved vendors. Information and Access Permit applications are available online, see above web site, by calling the DEP Access Permit office, or at DEP Offices throughout the watershed. Applications are also available at bait and tackle shops and town halls throughout the watershed and at DEP Offices in Queens and Manhattan. READ MORE |
