Provides executive leadership in the strategic planning, development, implementation, and operation of programs, policies and procedures that support Public Safety. Advises the Mayor on the direction, management and oversight of public safety and programs. Serves as the principal advisor to the Mayor establishing strategic goals and objectives; adjusts or redefines goals and objectives and ensures resources are effectively utilized; formulates broad policies and prescribes rules, regulations and procedure governing the execution of public safety programs and activities. Develops reliable sources of support from agencies and seeks to innovate and advance operations; oversees and directs negotiations of intergovernmental agreements and contracts; and proactively plans and projects for the effective management of resources.
