NYC Unity Project

Description

Situated within the NYC Mayor’s Office of Equity & Racial Justice, the NYC Unity Project (UP) is the city’s centralized LGBTQ+ unit. Integral to ensuring that both equity and equality are centered across the city, the NYC Unity Project works across all city agencies to develop programs, policies, communications, and engagements that advance the quality of life for New York City’s LGBTQ+ community.
An innovation hub of LGBTQ+ programming, the NYC Unity Project utilizes a cross-agency approach that focuses on tackling root causes of systemic inequities while building culturally competent services to meet the evolving needs of New York City’s LGBTQ+ community, particularly LGBTQ+ youth, LGBTQ+ people of color, and Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Non- Binary (TGNCNB ) people. Committed to the advancement of equity, the NYC Unity Project works across three core focus areas: (1) Economic and community development, (2) Acceptance and antidiscrimination, and (3) Health equity.
