Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV)

Established in Section 19 of the City Charter in 2001, and with its responsibilities and authorities expanded by Executive Order 36 in September of 2018, the Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (ENDGBV) is committed to ending domestic and gender-based violence. As the City's experts on domestic and gender-based violence issues, ENDGBV provides training and prevention education, performs community outreach, research and evaluations, develops and recommends legislation, and operates the New York City Family Justice Centers. ENDGBV collaborates with City agencies and community stakeholders to ensure access to inclusive services for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence, which can include intimate partner and family violence, elder abuse, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
